In 2022, Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) and Preventative Measures launched Building Blocks to Inclusion: A roadmap for the Neurodiverse in the Workplace. RWA and Preventative Measures believe that everyone has gifts to share and that all people should have access to information and opportunities, regardless of ability. This partnership was created to explore and begin to address the gap in culturally appropriate resources about autism for Indigenous people, families and communities.

Our Goal

  • Develop an understanding of neurodiversity, focusing on autism, awareness in Indigenous communities;

  • Utilize our four week pre-employment program that works with neurodivergent individuals to secure casual to part-time employment;

  • Connect neurodifferent individuals with a mentor to ensure they are supported as they transition into the workplace;

  • Make neurodiversity & autism resource guides and information more readily available for communities to access.
